Starting 31st January 2025, the Refresher Course will be mandatory for all security officers renewing their SIA licence. It will also be required for those wishing to downgrade their licence from a Door Supervisor to a Security Officer. To ensure you comply with the new regulations, be sure to complete this course before your licence renewal.

This program is designed for individuals with a current SIA Security Officer licence, helping them stay compliant with the latest industry standards and regulations.
The refresher course covers essential skills and knowledge required by security officers, aligned with the latest Security Industry Authority (SIA) guidelines. It combines both theoretical and practical components, ensuring participants are well-equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
Our Security Guard Refresher course covers the key areas crucial for security officers:
Learners must be 18+ years old.
Must hold a valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence.
A current first aid qualification is required. Learners must provide a valid first aid certificate, such as Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for at least 12 months from the start date.
Theory – Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) Examination
The theoretical portion of this course is evaluated through a multiple-choice exam, which includes 28 questions to be completed within 45 minutes. The exam is held under controlled conditions and supervised by qualified invigilators to ensure fairness and security. A passing score of 71% is required.
Practical – Candidates must demonstrate competence in performing searches and implementing safety procedures.
To receive certification, candidates must successfully pass both the theory and practical components.
Exam results will be made available on the same day or 14 days later depending on course location.
